New Betta!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I got a new betta! She is blue and her name is Andrew.(Someone else named him, not me!) Well, I call her Do Do (Not doo doo, but doe doe) Because every betta I have had, I named it with an O at the end of it’s name. So sometimes I call her Andrew, or Andro, or Do Do. It’s kind of weird, but it’s a tradition!
But Andro seems so bored all the time. I try to move her around and put her in different places a lot. I also try to put her in places where there are a lot of people moving around and such, because I heard they like to be where there is action. This might sound weird, but are there ways to like, play with your betta fish? Make them less bored and more happy? I will take any suggestions I can get!

I have a boy betta fish. My voice teacher had a betta fish for 8 years? Because they are really only suppost to 2-3 years old. His name is Sun Fire because when i got him and got him out of the store he looked like he was on fire.

Well first you should make sure his living area is nice and that your using a variation of foods such as bloodworms raw or freeze dried pellets and any other beta prone food, they like alot of live stuff. Beta’s are playful fish by nature so if he’s not swimming around and stays in one spot its a warning sign somethings wrong.

i think a good way to play with your betta is to get a laser pointer. first get its attention, then point it at a solid thing. thats what i did w/ Duck. (and it toatally worked.) she was following the laser EVERYWHERE! it was funny.

Make sure his/her water is warm. Mine spent most of his time doing nothing, one day I even thought he was dead! But when I put the bowl near the heater and made sure my room was warm, he was much more active. Make sure you have enough water, too. I have mine in 2 liters now and he seems much happier.

Put a small mirror up to the side of the bowl one a day. Your fish will flare up and challenge the rival fish he sees in his reflection. It will be like him running laps once a day as exercise. If he is sluggish.. the water is too cold. They have bowl warmers online that you place the bowl on and it keeps a regular temp of 75°.

My double tailed betta fish is laying on its side at the bottom of her tank and she always goes inside her plant and stays there all day well… moves every once in a while but what should i do? is there something wrong?

I have 4 bettas, 2 females named miley and hanna and 2 males little and joey, ive had joey the longest and he has such a great manner to him hes always keeping him self busy, and my my 2 females are in with some gold fish and they keep them self busy as well (lol) but my newest guy, little isnt eating much or doing a hole lot, maybe its cause hes in a new tank in stead of a cup ? or maybe its joey, there tanks are close so they can see each other, joey loves it but little doesnt seem to care much im not sure what to do ?

You can play follow-the-leader with your betta. All you have to do is use your finger to attract them and they follow your finger. My betta’s name is Sam. It is a female. She’s blue and has black and white stripes at the bottom of her. She’s small and extremely cute. I will be hoping to send a couple pics soon.

it is my first reply on this website and firstly I would like to thank you for the great quality information, which I were able to find in this and all previous posts , it really helped me a lot. I will definitely add this website on my google reader
