Since salt is obviously not that great for your betta they are great snails. I have a tank with live plants, they keep the algae down and prefer it over my actual plants which was the problem with other snails. I have a larger zebra snail in my semi aggressive tank w/ dwarf puffer fish. He lives on and happily cleans the tank. AND, you will never get them all out. Suggestion: don't do it. I really doubt that a betta will look at a snail...as being a companion. Put a mirror near your tank so your betta sees his reflection. Now, you will see some action! He will be checking out the other guy...all day long! Put a couple of snails in your tank… and you might as well have put about 1000 snails in your tank!
