I just cleaned the water he dived down and he where the divider is and the plant then he got stuck then before I tried to move the plant he got out and only the head scales where removed it was a little red but the next day it was fine.

the chemicals your using to clean your water must be too strong. either use less or switch to another brand. Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Splendid Betta BettaFix Remedy, is typically a good medicine for small problems.

a pond fish in the pond across the street lost his scales and then algae grew over the spot bit he is doing fine me and my friend named him survior.
