First off I’m sorry that your Betta died. I know of many people that haven’t purchased their fish from the best pace and the fish has survived. Even my first fish was a bit deformed and lived for a while. Was the water clean, but not too clean? Undue stress?

70% of the time bettas die its due to over feeding. how many times a day did you feed? i suggest you only feed once a day, and if your betta looks over weight, maybe only once every other day. when i got my first betta i fed him too much, and well he died. also dont use flaked food for you betta, i use Hikari’s Bio-Gold betta pellets, they work and they are cheap!

I am terrible sorry to here about your fish. My Beta recently died, I bought him from a cheap pet store for a school project. He was a little over 3 1/2 years old. I even had a dog when I was younger from a mall pet store that lived for 15 years so I believe no matter where a pet comes from it can survive you just have to be a little careful which ones you pick.
