A pineapple betta is one that has yellow scales outlined with a darker color (usually black). This is a plakat betta male and he is a halfmoon.

This male Betta is a butterfly. He is a butterfly betta because of his fins that are about halfway the same color as his body color. He has a blue body with blue and white fins. Also slightly over Halfmoon making him an Over Half Moon.

This betta fish is just unbelievably bright. His red/orange color is incredibly vibrant. His color is called “intense orange star” because of how bright it is. The betta pictured here is a male over half moon (OHM).

This betta fish is a plakat male. He has a wonderful lemon gold color on his fins. His body is somewhat fleshy colored (transparent) and has an awesome white trim.

Here is a very unique betta. This guy is a purple over half moon with some redwash. The tail has many features of a rosetail too! This one is a beauty.

Appearance:
White spots Maybe less active, may have stopped eating and his fins may be clumped.

Symptoms:
Dashing against rocks, plants or anything in his container.

Treatment:
Ick is a parasite and is contagious so do a good cleaning and add Coppersafe by Mardel. Raising the temperature to 84F. will help to speed up the cure. You should do more water changes to get rid of the parasite.

Although Bettas do not require as much water as gold fish or other tropical fish, they should not be kept in a container or tank that is too small. Generally, anything below one gallon is too small for a Betta to live in and would require very frequent water changes – once every two days – that are stressful for the betta and too time-consuming for you. Remember, Bettas are living organisms that produce waste, which can accumulate to dangerous levels if the container is not large enough to accommodate their metabolic load.
